October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Malia at Yesterday on Tuesday has written an amazing piece about her friend. I am always in awe of the strength I see in woman when faced with adversity.
Go read about Michelle, Pink Warrior Princess and be inspired.
Last month was Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, but really as women we should make every month our own personal awareness month.
Be healthy and stay in touch with your bodies ladies.

The World I Want for My Daughter
Traci at A Star in My Own Universe wrote a really amazing piece, The World I want for My Daughter. There is so much wisdom and wonder in this post for those of you with daughters {although I suppose I want similar things for my son too}...my favorite line is this..."So the world I want for my daughter is one wherein she believes herself to be enough." You have to go check it out for the rest...and she references School House Rock...so of course it ROCKS.

Doing some good with Rook No. 17!
Jenn is always finding great inspiration and invaluable way to help people and touch lives.
Last year Jenn did a POST {read more about it at her place} about Card for Kids, an amazing organization goal whose goal is "to make and deliver cards, goodies, etc. to children who are in the hospital or living in shelters at holiday time." She also shares some of her families card creations HERE.

This particular Cards for Kids organization is based in California, which doesn't mean you cannot send cards from elsewhere, but just in case you want to help closer to home, try calling some around and maybe you can brighten a child's. You can also even call senior centers or the like...our cub scouts have also made Thanksgiving place mats for Meals on Wheels. My son's Cub Scout Den has made cards for just about every holiday.

The Cards for Kids organization Jenn and I send to is located in Southern California. I searched on Facebook and found this ONE and of course I mention the one up in Sandy's feature. Check around...It is really a fun way to get your kids helping and to help other kids.

  2. Enjoy FALL BREAK, fun! That kid's card club is AWESOME. What a beautiful way to bless others. And I saw those Red Couch candy corn cookies and I was instantly inspired to make those. I bookmarked that page. ;)

  3. Have a great week next week enjoying time with the kiddos.

I absolutely love that button necklace. My grandmother was quite the seamstress when she was alive, or so I understand. She passed away when I was very little. My dad only asked for two things when died. Her handwritten cookbook and her buttons.

I have admired the jars of buttons that my dad proudly displays for many many years. Recently he let me go through them and pick out the ones I wanted. So amazing. I have to find something really special to do with them.

Great tickled pink picks again. As always!
