Tickled Pink No. 18

504 Main
What does it mean to be Tickled Pink?
"The tickling pink concept is of enjoyment great enough
to make the recipient glow with pleasure ."
*************************
I am tickled pink because...
well, honestly, I am back and forth between being tickled anything...
My son has started school and is happy - that tickles me pink.
I have found a new preschool for my daughter - that tickles me pink.
I had a great trip to Los Angeles - that ALWAYS tickles me pink.
{I did not get to see everyone, so no tickle there!}
We had a fabulous back-to-school beach bonfire with friends  - that tickles me pink.
The book is coming along - that tickles me pink.
I hope to watch Project Runway and go to bed at a reasonable hour tonight  - that will tickle my family pink! They do not like tired crabby mommy!
 ***********
A BIG thanks!
The wonderful and supportive comments when I decided to take a brief break really made my day. You all are wonderful - that tickles me pink! am still working my way through all of your wonderful visits!
***********
On another note...
This week was also touched by - or filled with - sadness over the all too soon passing of Bumpkin on a Swing. Some people do not understand why I blog or why anyone blogs, much less how people can establish relationships like this. Well, they can and do, and it is real. My continued thoughts and prayers are with Lisa's Captain, family, and friends.

style, substance, and inspiration
from Moore Minutes
I met Lisa at Moore Minutes a few months ago and fell in LOVE instantly. It all began with her summertime picnic. I knew I needed to see more...and she does not disappoint at all...ever! She plans parties, designs tablescapes, DIY's, and the love for what she does and her family shines through in all of it.
***********
Her parties are to-die-for. Along with the beautiful aforementioned picnic is this Classic Boy Campout Party that Lisa put on for her son's birthday. You have to see the details, planning, and fun that this party is all about. For another birthday, a spy-themed shindig was in order.
 ***********
Her dining room transformation is fabulous...and not only is is fabulous, but I think this is why I can relate to her...Lisa states, "I was instantly consumed with the desire to transform my dining room! And if you know me, once I get "instantly consumed", I can't stop until it's accomplished." My kind of lady!
***********
Even her kitchen cabinets are gorgeous - the insides no less!
***********
Yes, it is true...don't freak out, but Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Take a peek at Lisa's Thanksgiving Table...and a kid's table too! Some really fabulous ideas await!
***********
And, since I have already freaked you out about Thanksgiving...I'll keep going...Christmas is coming. Who doesn't love a pretty Christmas cookie?
***********
If you have not paid Lisa a visit, go knock on her door and say hi and be prepared to be inspired by her sense of style.

A little reminder with a big message from Kludgy Mom
Do you do it...do you get caught up in it? I know I do. I am perfectly happy, have a home, a car, kids, dog, etc. but find myself getting caught up in the "more is more" mindset.
Here is Kludgy Mom's reminder that Less is More.
I read this a few weeks ago and the timing {for me} was perfect. The post has stuck with me and I really wanted to share it with you.
***********
For something a little less serious, I got quite a kick out of her take on Unrequited Blog Love. I am sure this is a feeling many of us can relate to!
***********
My son is always designing a new, unusual, test-my skills concoction...and because all super moms try to make their kids happy...Check out Kludgy Mom's beautiful rainbow cake for her Little CEO! I could so relate to this post!
***********
If you have not visited her, you are missing out.
Today is Friday Flip Offs - it's a hoot! Go and vent!
*************************
While perusing the Internet, I saw this on the only and only Amy Atlas's blog. Icing Smiles is a non profit organization whose "mission is to provided critically ill children and their siblings with an exquisite custom celebration cake. We understand how hard it is for these families to create normal childhood memories. We want to provide them with an escape from the medical world and leave them with an Icing Smile."
They are currently up for a 25K grant from Pepsi...but they need your vote
I voted...it is so simple. Please go vote and make a child's {birth}day!

I think it's such a great idea to do a Back to School Bonfire. We're going out to eat at the kids favorite restaurant to console them. haha. And me for that matter. I love having them home during the summer.

  8. Glad you're back! I've been away from blogging quite a bit this summer, too. It's overwhelming to try to get caught up with everyone, isn't it?

I found a new blog the other day that made me think of you. It's full of DIY projects, many of which use thrift store finds. I spent an hour paging through it and adding to my own project list because she has so many great ideas. I love it and I think you will, too. I'll look up the link and send you an email.

  10. Thanks for hosting! I dove into the links and found a few faves... first, the National Smore Day link is for smores made from PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES... I think I'm in love. I also really liked the tote bag from mummy crafts, it would be a dream to be able to whip something cute up like that!

Digital scrapbooking tickles me pink, so I linked up 2 projects from this week and a tutorial on how to install fonts.

    Thanks again,

And your words about losing a dear blogging friend and why we blog were spot on. LOTS of people don't get it but our blogging friends are REAL friends, and REAL people. We are just a unique group who like to encourage others, or make them laugh, or just find out someone is THERE.
