Junkologie Trash to Treasure Benefit

A couple of weeks ago fellow DIY Clubber
told us about this amazing event and I wanted to be a part of it...
even though it is in Minnesota and I am in California.
**************
The event is a Junk Potluck at the 7th Annual Trash to Treasure Charity Auction in Orononco, Minnesota. This FAB event is hosted by the Junkologie Blog Party Co-planners...the Pfarkel Sisters from Junk {Re}defined. Net proceeds from the auction are donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure!

Well, this cause is important and near to my heart. I figured my potluck contribution would be so "hot" after a long trip via UPS...so I made a Trash to Treasure serving bowl.
Super easy. Super cute.
If I was going, I would probably bid on it to get it back.
*************
This project is all about creating something beautiful from trash..
so pretty much anything goes, as long as you think it is beautiful!

Footed Serving Bowl
Supplies
-Ice Cream Sundae bowl (or heavy candlestick)
-Old bowl - I used silver {or fake silver} but glass works too.
-Gorilla Glue, Super Glue
-Gorilla Tape
-Rubbing Alcohol
DIY IT!
1 - If necessary, sand the portion of the bowls that will be glue together - just for some traction.
2 - Wipe the areas to be glued together with some rubbing alcohol to remove and residue.
3- Run a line of Gorilla Glue Super Glue around the edge of the pedestal piece.
4 - Place and position the two pieces together
5 - I used the Gorilla Glue to clamp it down, because I always take precautions - this may not be necessary. I like Overkill!
6 -  When dry, flip it over and it is done!
7 - I embellished the bowl with a beautiful wired silver ribbon and these beautiful enameled tags that I am loving (I saw them first on In My Own Style). I will be doing a post on these soon!
8 - For fun, I added a flour sack towel with an Olive Rue Image. The just looked good together!
I cannot wait to hear how this event goes!
Thanks Amy for letting me be a part of it.
