In 1,000,000 years I would have never believed that I would have any deer, or rather stag heads in my home. Now of course this are glittery and fake, but nonetheless, this was not a home decor path I thought I would go down...but heck I live in Texas Hill Country now and there are deer everywhere and it is practically a decorating essential (like the Texas Star). Now if you are like me, you realize Christmas is just around the corner but you are not done decorating and just need a few more things...well, this projects could not be SIMPLER!!!! I promise.

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Kmart
After a few years of minimal Christmas decorating, my daughter asked me, "Can we please have Christmas this year?" At first I was a little speechless, but then I realized she had a point. She loves the decorations and over the last couple of years we have been traveling and trying to sell our home, and other than the tree and stockings, I had not really decorated. Well, this year we are settled into our new home, and I am looking to add some sparkle and style to this years decor. With the help of the Kmart Holiday Collection, I have found quite a few things that will make me happy and hopefully fulfill my daughters wishes too!

Last week I jumped on a plane and headed to
NYC for Sandra Lee's Summer Carnival.
Now, I have come and gone and
am full of inspiration and amazing memories.
Prior to leaving I received an invitation with
a cute Carnival-inspired ticket, a note from Sandra Lee,
and oven mit from Sandra's collection.

There is so much to share
I will be splitting up my posts and show you the
professional photos and some recipes later this week.
But this is a great overview of the carnival.
(I am regretting not bringing the bigger, better camera...
I wish my photos were better)

This event was held to celebrate the launch of Sandra's home collection, Sandra by Sandra Lee, which is available in Sears and Kmart stores. It was a great group - about 20 bloggers, the talented teams from Sears and Kmart and of course Sandra Lee.

When I got married, it hit me....
I might have to cook...
for someone other than myself.
I had no idea what I was doing.
I knew how to cook veggies...
but that did not make hubby all that happy...
I thought surely he would starve...
and then I saw I bought Sandra Lee's Semi Homemade Cookbook,
and I thought "Hey, I can do that!"

I never would have guessed that {a few} years later I would have the opportunity to meet Sandra Lee and participate in her Summer Carnival in New York City as she launches her Sandra by Sandra Lee home collection in Sears and Kmart

Yes, that is right....I am heading to New York!

I have watched Sandra on the Food Network and her HGTV specials...
and have enjoyed her magazine for a long time.
I being inspired by how Sandra can create magic
and entertain with her trademark "70/30 Semi-Homemade."
I have a soft "spot" for anything polka dot

But, I must confess while I enjoy the recipes...what I really love is how she combines this aspect into all areas of entertaining and creates beautiful tablescapes and cocktails!

Oh yeah...pretty tablescapes and cocktails
(Had to say that twice...it is my favorite)

And now we can all have a little taste of Sandra's style in our homes with her Sandra by Sandra Lee home collection available at Sears and Kmart.

I have to tell you when I was designing my Spring/Easter tablescape this collection was just across the aisle and it was all I could do not to snatch it all up!

Here is a preview of what is in store...

Mini Casserole Dishes

Great Kitchen Necessities
How awesome is this sink cutting board?!

I am feeling the need for some new canister.
I could have such a pretty pantry.

Love this cheese grater

This scroll dinnerware is begging to find a home at my house.

I do think some bright and happy textile will make my kitchen smile (and me too)

How about some small appliances.
That is such a pretty crock pot...
I smell a chili cook off in my future!
I need to talk blenders too!

This is certainly one of my favorite pieces!
Pretty and elegant.

Is it too early to think about Christmas?
Of course not!
Here's a sneak peek at what Sandra has in store for the holidays!

So, what do you think? Pretty cool, eh?
I will have so much more to share with you when I return...
Until then you can follow along with what is happening
on twitter by following me
and the hashtag #bysandralee

I started a fun Pinterest Board showcasing some of my favorite
Sandra by Sandra Lee products
and how they inspire some fun tablescapes.

When it comes time for holidays at our house,
I strive to make each holiday special for my kids.
We do not live near our families and I want to create memories
and traditions for my kids that will last forever.

Of course, that does not always mean I get super elaborate
or go over the top, but it does mean incorporating items they love,
letting them help decorate or cook, and creating a special table for our meal...
even if it is just the four of us.
