Hey all!
 I will be back on Friday with Tickle Pink No. 11!
I am playing catch up - even more so than usual -
because of my wonderful trip I just returned from.

I must share that I am most absolutely Tickled Pink because...
I waterskied for the first time in 15 years and am tickled pink
beyond all comprehension that I was able
to get up on one ski the first time...
just like riding a bike!
{This will not be the last you hear of this accomplishment!}
And the company was great...
nothing like some sunshine and
some really good friends to make ya happy!
Until Friday...

PLEASE GO VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE ENTRY AT
we have a lot more
great stuff coming your way too!

Friday, June 11, 2010

So, I have been doing just a wee bit of research
on what it means to be "Tickled Pink."
I know some have not linked up because their posts isn't pink...
guess what it does not have to be PINK!?
This day is about stuff we {heart} from our own blogs or from others.
I thought I would throw out the "definition" of what it means to be Tickled Pink.
{I found this on The Phrase Finder.}
"...it's the figurative sense of the word that means 'to give pleasure or gratify'. The tickling pink concept is of enjoyment great enough
to make the recipient glow with pleasure ."
*************************
It is time for Tickled Pink No. 10 with a Hop!

SPOTLIGHT on summer fun
  *************************
great fun for kids
is from Simoney at Great Fun 4 Kids
Button by The Button Box
In our house summer is birthday season.
And, well every day is another day to have fun...
or at least give it our best effort. Being a wedding and party planner, I can appreciate a good party when I see one. I also appreciate a party that is well planned without spending $1,000,000. Simoney at Great Fun 4 Kids has some fabulous parties -and we can all pretend we are fancy because these ideas are imported from New Zealand! {HA!}

The parties at Great Fun 4 Kids are thoughtful, well-planned out,
and party perfect without being overdone.
***Anyone want to join me for a dinosaur sleepover?
You must check out that cake!***
***My family is all about their cars, so I just adore the Wacky Wheels party.
Such great ideas that tie the entire party together and
she even made cute road signs with card stock and electrical tape!***
***Of course, I did not forget about the little fairies around here.
The Fairy Party is utterly enchanting!***

Simoney is also the creator of  KidsClick.
Remember...I told you all about it last week.
Well this weeks theme is "This is Me!"

These parties and ideas are sure to Tickle YOU Pink
*************************
glitter and paper and glue - oh my!

Tammy is a master at what she does.
I continue to marvel at what she can do with
paper, glue, glitter, and her imagination.
She makes it all beautiful!
***One of my favorite projects is her repurposing of an ice cream bucket.
{I think this may be one of the first projects I ever saw of hers}***
***So, remember how I just said Tammy can make it all beautiful...
check out what she did to the dog food container.
I assure you, any dog would be wagging their tale when if they saw this!***
***When I have a party, I love to elevate my items...I use all space possible - vertical and horizontal! Tammy made this adorable cupcake stand. I see it in the future for my daughters b'day! ***
***And if you need something to put on that cupcakes stand besides cupcakes, check out this recipe for strawberries and cream! A perfect little treat!***

a the cutest burger maker EVER
is Rook No. 17's daughter

Jenn from Rook No. 17 is actually a real life friend  - he was even a real life friend first! Jenn is a creative force to be reckoned with. She has taken a bit of a bloggy break...but I have noticed quite a few posts recently and then saw this number on her facebook page! Maddie and {my son} Joe are twins from different parents. Maddie is a cool kid who gets my sarcasm, so what's not to love.
 Jenn has been making these little cuties lately...and while I have wanted to try I was intimidated...but she shot this footage of Maddie showing us how easy -peasy it is to make one and now we are considering having a burger bar at Joe's birthday party.

Jenn is also holding a giveaway for a super cool Diaper Dudes Diaper Bag.

I did it. I took the plunge. I have been reading and perusing information on detoxing for awhile...a long while. I always resisted. Most seemed to require no eating or just drinking a funny concoction. As I mentioned on Tickled Pink on Friday, I saw Adrienne at The Skinny Fight doing a 7 day raw detox. I was hooked. On this detox you actually get to eat...real food!
detox, health

My living room looks like an episode of Hoarders,
and somewhere under those boxes and dishes and dust is my mind.
I have this sneaking suspicion that I have
forgotten about a tickled pink inquiry...
if I did, please email me! I'm sorry!

 NOW...on to PINK business!
This week, I'm tickled pink about...
a bumpkin on a swing!
yucky fun for kids
skinny aspirations
a beautiful loo
*************************
a bumpkin on a swing
needs no introduction, her name says it all!
Bumpkin and I came across each other a while back
and every time I visit her, I am in awe.
Her posts are dreamy and I just want to step into
the Mac and be a part of her world.
She is entertaining even when she is talking about being a Spinster Bumpkin
{you could never be called a spinster my dear!}
She says what some are thinking and says it well, take her letter to Tiger for instance {warning...not for the Tiger fans!}.
Did I mention our Ms. Bumpkin cooks...I cannot wait to try this Orange Bundt Cake at my soon-to-be three year old's Orange themed birthday party.
I am continually amazed by her ability to find some of the most amazing photographs EVER {swoon!}! Visit célébrité 'en noir et blanc or Who's That Lady
to see some stunning photographs.
And, of course, if you need more bumpkin {I do!} you can read up on
100 Things about Bumpkin {psst...her favorite color is orange!}
Go visit Bumpkin...I assure you her post will not disappoint..
I hear she has a little something special planned for Tickled Pink
*************************
yucky fun for kids
My son loves the camera.
{and daughter too...but she mainly likes looking at herself}
 Joe is always asking to use the camera to take photos...
and now there is a special competition for kids who click!
This is something for kids who like to take photos...
and even kids whose parents don't BLOG can join in too.
Give the kiddos permission to click away and
show them how to use a camera properly and even have
their work seen by others. The competition is open to kids
of all ages (no matter how young) up to the age of 14 years.
Go visit KidsClick, check out the competition how-tos and join your kids in.

This weeks theme is "YUCK!"
and it is open until Tuesday 8th June,
so you have over the weekend to get them clicking.

skinny aspirations
from Adrienne at The Skinny Fight

Adrienne's blog is refreshing. She offers honest opinions about her challenges with weight loss and her unhealthy relationship with food {I can relate!}. I love her post on how and when she decided she wanted a career in health and fitness. I have thought so many of these same things, especially when she talks about the kids who are overweight...it touches my heart!
And then there is her most recent experiment of sorts...a 7 day raw food detox. I read this as she was starting the process and it called to me...no it sang to me. I quickly commented and emailed her and I since have also done the detox. I LOVE it more than I can express. I have at least one green smoothie every day! I will be blogging about my own experience more next week...but for now, go read about Adrienne's experience
 *************************
a beautiful loo
is from Prior
Prior
She linked her bathroom redo last week. I had actually seen...no swooned over it before...but I love it so much I must point it out so everyone can see the style and absolute fantabulousness of this bathroom. I want to jump on a plane right now just to see her bathroom! You think I am joking...No way! It is fantastic!
 *************************
Of course I am tickled PINK to announce the NEXT DIY Club challenge!
It is on for 6/3! Go visit the DIY Club to check out the new simplified rules
and join up to follow along so you do not miss out!

PINK! PINK! PINK!
GREEN! GREEN! GREEN!
My two most favorite colors...E-V-E-R!
I am guessing it is because I NEVER had a pink room.
Yep, yellow Holly Hobbie it was for me!
If it wasn't for hubby, my living room
- OK my whole house -
would probably be some form of pink and green...
but then I probably wouldn't be married.

Anyway, I have been waiting for the right time to post this beautiful tablescape.
I worked on this tablescape with some other talented designers as part of a magazine shoot. I have been meaning to post it for awhile, but I never quite got around to it {surprise! surprise!}, until now! It is perfect for today...or any day!
Gorgeous, eh?
You know what I love about this too...
it can easily and inexpensively be recreated at home any day.
{OK, the floral cake and chandelier would take some extra effort)
Just think, some grocery store roses in an old silver tea pot
or a mason jar, limes and petals and some beautiful linens.
The red toile plates were from the Goodwill.
I bet some of those tissue paper pompoms

would look really great too!

Seriously, I am obsessed with biscuits
Bet you figured that one out already, eh?
That is just me...I find something I like and I just cannot get enough!
After completing my first project for the DIY Club,
I had some biscuits left and a spot on the fence
in my backyard screaming for some color!
I grabbed my super-fabulous, bright and summery
 Patio Paints from DecoArt and started painting away
to create this trio of wall hangings -
 The perfect little project to fill a space with some sunshine!

Supplies
1. 3 round mirrors in 3 different sizes. Mine are: 7", 6", 5" . You can also use wood circles. Both the mirrors and the wood circles were fairly inexpensive and from a craft store.
2. Plate joining biscuits (from hardware store, like Home Depot)
4. Smaller paint brushes
* Blue Bahama (8oz.)
* Citrus Green (2 oz)
* Marigold (2 oz.)
6. DISChangers in 3 sizes - this is seriously the perfect project for using DISChangers!

Want to DIY it!
Check out the pdf tutorial the
 Want to see what else I did with biscuits for the DIY Club?
Check out my summer party table.
