I can hardly believe it has almost been one year since we moved from California to Texas...and, no, the transition has not been easy, but we have found a few bright spots, and on of them are the sweet notes my daughter has received from her friends back home.

I can hardly believe it has almost been one year since I moved from California to Texas. During that move, I called on past moving experience, advice from friends, and did a lot of research. I shared one of my favorite moving tips (which by the way kept me pretty darn organized once we got to Texas and started unpacking!) awhile back, but today I am sharing my Hometalk Moving Tips and Tricks Board with you.

A Hometalk Board fill of moving tips and tricks

It has been a few months since we moved from California to Austin...
and I finally have unpacked all but 3 boxes in the garage - whew!
(that is no small feat!)
We were lucky that we were able to hire professional movers...
but we have used professional movers before, so I knew that this did not necessarily
ensure everything would end where it was supposed to or stay organized.
I did some packing myself and got a few boxes from a friend - this where I learned this MOVING TIP for keeping all those (and there were A LOT) of boxes organized.
It has proven to be my sanity saver!

Every morning I wake up and still can hardly believe that I live in Austin,Texas!
I was a born California girl, and I suppose I always will be...
but for the last few months I have been attempting to settle in to my new home in Texas.

I do admit that I may have cried the first morning (and on many other occasions) when I actually had to tell the barista my order at the local coffee shop. "At home," my coffee was practically waiting for me every day at my favorite coffee shop. Yes, I know it is ridiculous, but I think that is what made it all sink in...all the way to the ground.

These last few weeks have FLOWN by!
I guess that is what happens when you are CRAZY!
(at least I am mostly in good company)

I have been on the computer...
but it is because I am OBSESSED with house hunting!
Partly because I need a place to live
and partly because it is fun to fantasize about a new place.
(even though I LOVE my old place)

And then there is the matter of selling the old place.
BLAH!
And TWO kiddo BIRTHDAYS to plan!

So I am taking this week off for my own sanity...
but I will be back with awesomeness next week!

And if you all have any tips or helpful hints for moving to another state or packing...
feel free to SHARE!
