I drive A LOT. I drive A LOT on scary-fast Texas highways. I
see people speeding down the lanes on their phones, eating lunch, putting on makeup, taking videos and photos - you
name it. It is unbelievable what people do behind the wheel of a car! I take driving very seriously. Not
only am I trying to teach a teenager road
safety, but no less than 5 times in the last year if I would not have
been acutely aware while driving, I would have been in major accidents. Recently I partnered with the Drop Stop to show you how easy it is to install this simple preventative tool to help stop distracted driving and stay safe.

You know those things that people tell you to do and you never do.
Perhaps you even think...
"It won't happen to me?"
"I will do it tomorrow."
"Is that really going to help?"
I am pretty well versed in that "tomorrow" philosophy.
But recently an event happened at a party that made me
rethink a few things about home safety, specifically
fire safety.

When I first moved from Southern California 8 years ago, I drove a lot. I made many, many trips between my old and new homes. I probably drove the stretch of HWY 101 8-9 times a year. At that time it was just me and my young son (he was 4). I started t think...
"What would happen if we got in an accident?"
"What would my son do if something happened to me?"
My son was only 4 then - he did not have a cell phone, he did not know all the new phone numbers. He was young! This is when I started making
Road Trip Emergency Cards.
