Now it's Project Time
I had the opportunity to play with the Edge It Kit!
They also have adorable Clip It Kits and Tag It Kits.
As usual, my mind started going so fast I could barely decide on a project!

I first had to try a NON-HOLIDAY PROJECT -  a small vase.
I just kept thinking how pretty these edges would be all layered...
So I used layers of contrasting paper edged with the Edge It Kit of course!
 Supplies
  • 3 contrasting, but coordinating papers
  • Edge It Kit and Die Cutter (remember Lifestyle Crafts dies work in all manual die cutting machines)
  • Decoupaged medium and brush
  • Vase or tin
How To!
  • Cut 3- 2.5 x 12+ inch strips of paper. I also cut 1 1" x 6" length for the base.
My vase was only 6" in circumference, so with careful cutting (and using scrapbook paper, 12 x 12) I was able to get two bands from each length of paper.

  • Layout paper and determine your pattern.
  • Using the die/die cutter, create a pretty edge on one side by running the paper through the machine.
  • Cut lengths of paper to match the circumference of your vase.
  • Using the decoupage, glue the 1" band on the base of the base, flush with the bottom; then apply decoupage all over it and up onto the vase layer your second band with the edge of the edged paper flush with the base of the vase. Be sure to keep that "seam" where the paper meets all lined up with each band.
  • Apply more decoupage (over and under bands) and continue adding bands of paper leaving about 1/2" between finished edges, until you reach the rim.
  • Once you are at the top cut (if necessary) the final band to be flush with the rim.
  • Apply a layer of decoupage all over the vase, let dry. Apply a second coat, let dry.

I then started just playing around and eventually made a Christmas Card using some Canvas Corp paper, the Santa Silhouette Die and the Star Die.
I have some other ideas for this, so I will post another tutorial very soon!
Then I made a "ribbon" of paper with edging on both sides
and thought it would be a pretty way to wrap plain boxes.
Top it with a star and sparkle...and done! Simple!
