Ice Cream Memories - Frozen Treat Social GIVEAWAY

If I could, I would live on ice cream.
Just telling ya how it is.
I love all kinds and flavors and mixtures and forms of it.
Oh I cannot resist a Frozen Sweet Treat!

Recently I made my kids very happy.
(I try to do this occasionally)
By participating in the Frozen Treat Social Sweepstakes promotion,
We headed to the grocery store to try some new frozen treats.

Oh, just wait...you have the opportunity - no 2 opportunities! - to win a set of coupons for your own sweet treats here and via the Frozen Sweet Treat Sweepstakes!
The Frozen Sweet Treat Sweepstakes end 9/19 - so hurry over to enter!

Each day a set of coupons is being given away and
there is a Grand Prize  - a year's worth of coupons for frozen treats.
Just go to

We had fun with in the freezer section!!
And you know what is crazy...
I never realized I had so many memories tied to frozen treats.
I  am sure my kids never Imagined just buying frozen treats
would send me into a nostalgic rant and
who knows what the people at the grocery store think!

So want to hear some of my crazy memories...

I remember buying fudgsicles off the ice cream truck
(Oh I wish there were more ice creams trucks).
Really, is there anything better than hearing that sweet tinging music playing.
I swear we could hear it from miles away.
We'd grab out change and just wait, and then enjoy a fudgsicle in the shade.

***************************
My mom and I (and my brother and the girl of the week) would buy multiple flavors of our favorite ice cream every Wednesday night when my Dad was at work and eat them in front of the TV watching Beverly Hills 90210and Melrose Place.

*********************
Maybe my favorite, the one that I have passed on to my kids...
My Dad loves Neapolitan ice cream - give him any choice, that is what he picks, I grew up with it in the house. But you really cannot eat Neapolitan just the way it is...you have to wait until it melts "just enough" so you can swirl that chocolate, strawberry vanilla yumminess into a creamy bowl of goodness. Now, when we buy Neapolitan, my kids call it Papa Ice cream and insist on doing the same thing.

We loved our selections and cannot wait to try out some of the new frozen treats!

  1. My favorite memory is having popsicles with my family (years and years ago it was Disney shaped popsicles...haven't seen them in a long time though) after our nightly swims in the summer. Takes me back!

  4. I loved Ice cream sandwiches. I still do. Every once in a while my husband and I will go and get the sandwich treat but more grown up style now. I must admit though I still love the vanilla ice cream with the chocolatey sandwich cookie outside.

  14. Summer day camp. The staff would yell "ice cream" at a certain time in the afternoon and we'd all run to the snack stand to pick out our ice cream. My favorite was called a 50/50 bar. An orange popsicle with vanilla ice cream inside. Yum!
