I have not painted a T-shirt since high school...
at least not one that I would wear.
I did paint some puffy ghosts and pumpkins
with my son about 5 years ago...
but seriously I will not be blogging about that!
That is about the stiffest article of clothing
(and I use that term loosely)
I have ever seen.

BUT my daughter gave me the perfect opportunity to try it again...the right way! And with the help of DecoArt So Soft Fabric Paint, I think we had SUCCESS!

This is surely not the fabric paint I remembered from my youth. So Soft has a really nice  "So Soft" hand when it is dry. It is easy to paint with - and I used a variety of different brushes/items to do just that...and when it dries it feels comfortable and relaxed (yeah no stiff T-shirts!)...and I had fun being creative and coming up with designs.

These designs are my own and I will figure out how to load them here,
so you can print them if you want.
I think my T's turned out awesome!...
And, I may be partial, but I do think my model is awesome too!

SUPPLIES
  • T-shirt or garment of choice
  • Variety of brushes (see below for each T)
  • DecoArt So Soft Fabric Paint. Colors for T's follow
  • Cardboard or something to place between the layers of the shirt to protect back/side/etc.
  • Image/Design

Design It
I wanted to do something fashion-y but thought my daughter would give me "the stink eye" if it was not pink and fluffy...so I drew a (slightly) fashion looking drawing of a ballerina. I decided to paint this in all pinks other than the hair. Just because - it is a design thing.

The surfer was from a previous project as was the flower. The surfer called for bold colors and I wanted to try something light, soft, and blended for the flower.

Place it!
Determine the placement.

Paint it!

        So, what do ya think?

Ready to try your hand at fabric painting!?
I am making some towel and placemats too!

My Girls Night In party was a week ago already!
I just had so much fun and we thoroughly enjoyed
watching Bridesmaids and sipping on a cocktail.

For this evening we had to have a pink cocktail!
I adore champagne cocktails...oooh my fave for sure,
and perfect for a Parisian inspired event!

This is a super simple recipe and can also be made non alcoholic
by using gingerale, sprite or sparkling water in place of champagne.

        Ingredients
        • Sparkling Wine (or champagne). When I mix a drink like this I like a good base but I did not go for the super-expensive champagne. I picked a good quality sparkling wine. You can do whatever the heck you want though!
        • Bitters (found in the liquor section)
        • Sugar cubes
        • Pomegranate juice (Pink)
        • Rimming sugar, optional

        MIX IT!
Optional: Ms. Rook No. 17 brought some pink rimming sugar! To use, dampen the rim of the glass, and then dip it in the sugar. Easy-peasy!

*Place 2 sugar cubes in a flute.
*Sprinkle (I prefer to douse, but I like the bitters) the biters on the sugar cubes - start with a few sprinkles and work your way up from there - be sue you find the taste you prefer. Let absorb.
        *Pour champagne about 2/3
*Add pomegranate juice to top off. Enjoy!

I used these CUTE Canvas Corp Chalk Stock Cards to write the recipe for the cocktail. I wanted to make sure there were instruction available to guests so they could make their own cocktail, or at least know what is in the cocktail.

Have you had a champagne cocktail?
Do you have a favorite champagne beverage?

It is kind of a pain, but I know I will be HAPPY soon!

I am a last minute type of holiday decorator...
OK you can say I am a procrastinator....
but I have already got a jump on some Christmas goodies
        - a few ornaments, a couple of gift tags,
and a sweet nutcracker art piece.
        (which Jules has already claimed)

After all there is only 95 days until Christmas!
What? Why am I so on top of it?
Well, the answer if Lifestyle Crafts Be Splendid Collection,
as well as their Jubilee Printing Plates, all for use with the Epic 6!
(Of course, the dies can be used with any manual die cutter!)
My family room has turned into Craftapalooza right now and I have so much more to show...and I will be putting together full tutorials this week for these projects (I really mean it) but here are a few ideas to get you going...

        ***Please understand, I love ornaments***
I used the Bird Die - he is so cute - for a little ornament.
I have some gift tags too (coming soon!)

I adore this Santa Silhouette Die and this little ornament!

And the Wreath Die - I used funky colors and LOVE it!

The Nutcracker Die has a lot of pieces...like a puzzle but I accepted the challenge. My little girl LOVES nutcracker - and yes she loves this, and it is going in her room right now!

I have also been using the Letterpress function of the Epic 6 a lot and have some ideas in the works...but look how pretty the Jubilee Plates are!
        (this image from lifestyle crafts)

        OK...back to creating for me!
